WTO SOCCER COMPETITION

In 2011, WTO Mock Summit Club came up with a soccer competition as part of its annual activities. The competition which brought ten Departments was played for one week and the final – between Department of Mass Communication and of Physical Education was played in the evening of the day of the Mock Summit – Department of Physical Education won the trophy. The cup was donated by Mansur Ahmad, a final year student of the Department of Political Science. We appreciated and we hope the same kindness will continue forever.

 

During the ceremony, though modest, the following remarks are made by the Director WTO Mock Summit:

 

There is relationship between sports, learning, as well as research. The link is that sports is an art. Art is creativity and creativity produces intelligence.

 

Furthermore, sports has a biological function of making brain more active. So, university environment without active sportsmen and women is a dead environment. Again, university environment without active support from everybody in promoting and appreciating culture of sports by young boys and girls of the community is also a dead one.

 

That is a message to every one in the community. The most important thing to note is that sports, narrow the divide between students and teachers. This will go along way to do the same in both learning and research.

 

The WTO Mock Summit Club is determine to produce excellence in learning in B.U.K. students, so it will continue to promote sports.
