Agriculture under WTO Regime: 2008/2009 Research Output Supervised by M. M. Yusif

My practice of supervision of under-graduate research thesis has always been to get one particular area of research interest which all the students under my supervision, after series of workshop and discussions on the concept each would develop a research topic and problem for social investigation.

In 2008/2009 academic session the research area choosen is Agriculture under WTO Multilateral Trade Regime. The importance of this area is to further the understanding of the crisis of the great trade organization i.e. the WTO. This problem would not be separated from the unfair and unjust rules and regulations which the WTO regime govern trade relations between the developed and the developing nations. Secondly, as activists in the WTO-Mock Summit, to improve our analytical capacity and understanding of the issues.

Agricultural trade has become a fine example which creates a virtual deadlock on moving global trade on free and fair direction.

Following preliminary discussions and in-house workshops with all the students under me, they have developed the following issues for research and carried through successfully and submitted to the Department.
